At Soar, we allow Users to provide high-quality map content to share with other Soar Users across the world. As such it is important to us that you get to view relevant content when visiting Soar.

You may not post content as an image or as a comment on maps uploaded to Soar that:

Shows physical violence
Contains nudity, partial nudity, or is pornographic or sexually suggestive
Discriminates against others on the basis of their nationality, culture, gender, religion, sexuality, disability or age
That is personally abusive or hateful towards any other user

As such, we ask Soar users to:

Treat others online as you would treat them in real life
Be tolerant towards others’ viewpoints; respectfully disagree when opinions do not align
Respect the privacy and personal information of other users
Communicate with courtesy and respect

Please do not:

Make personal attacks on other Soar Community members
Use defamatory remarks or make false statements against others
Post prejudiced comments or profanity
Bully or make inflammatory remarks to other community members
Post content that is obscene or Pornographic

Map & Content Guidelines

Map content uploaded to Soar should meet the following guidelines:

All maps should provide a benefit to users and contain a description of the content (what's the story your map is telling?)
It is correctly georeferenced (is in the correct location) and is rectified so that it correctly overlays the base map and has the same orientation shown in the base map
Maps which are non-informational, or do not meet these guidelines - e.g.
• a clip from another base map service such as Google or Bing
• a cloud mask
where you have the right to display copyrighted content
• Comply with the EULA of any copyrighted content
• refer to the source of the content
Where the content is shared under Creative Commons (CC) license, in the description of the map, you should:
• Reference the source of the content
• Refer to the appropriate CC Licence conditions e.g. CC 4.0-BY, CC 0 etc.
• Provide a link to the original content
For Public Domain content, in the description of the map, you should:
• Reference the source of the content
• Note that it is a Public Domain Image

Maps that do not meet Soar’s Content Guidelines may be rejected but can be re-uploaded after corrective action is taken on the map to fix any issues.
