Choosing the right maps to upload to Soar

Can satellite remote sensing help us prevent natural disasters?

Nov 26, 2023

Are you excited to contribute to Soar’s constantly growing digital atlas but not quite sure if your image fits the bill? We're here to help! To ensure a seamless mapping experience, we have a few guidelines for the types of map images that can be uploaded to Soar.

Top-Down Perspective

We accept map images captured from a top-down perspective. This means your image should be taken looking straight down at the area of interest.

Compatibility with Soar:

Images that are in .JPG format are welcome, but they should be georeferenced and not captured at an oblique angle, as mentioned above.

Avoid Irrelevant Images:

Make sure your image is relevant to the mapping community and serves a purpose. We all love pictures of cute animals or a screenshot of your high score in a video game, but that’s best left to other platforms 😉
By following these guidelines, you can help us maintain a high-quality mapping experience for all Soar users. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Remember, it's all about creating a map that provides value and accuracy to our community, and the world. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to our support team. Together, we can build an incredible super-map for everyone to benefit from!
